Plan the work after deployment

Hosting decisions combine resource needs with operational responsibility. A useful plan names who applies updates, how monitoring reaches a person who can act, where backups live, and how a restored system is verified. The recurring work belongs in the comparison alongside the resource specification.

Begin with a workload description rather than a server size. Trace a normal deployment, a failed change, and a recovery from lost data. Record the access and documentation each procedure requires. These scenarios make a VPS, a dedicated machine, or a managed service easier to compare against the team’s actual capacity.
